Outlandish Swap V: The Fiery Cross

Scottish clans were originally a Highland way of life. The Highland clan was, above all things, a family; a family in which everybody believed they were all, from chief to blacksmith, descended from one founder or progenitor. They regarded themselves as very close kinsmen. This Swap is dedicated to such clan families and will be organized into four clans.

The Clans Have Gathered!

After a moderate start, we passed the finish line with 40 swappers! Amazing. I was a bit worried that we would only have about 24 but you all came through in the end. We have a swapper from Scotland (she can clue us into all things Scottish), another from Norway, and three (count them, three) folks from Canada. That leaves 35 of us from the U.S. of A. Each clan is divided into seths of 10, headed by a chieftan (or is it chieftaness?), and possessing their own unique tartan. The clans, and clan tartans and colors, are posted to the right.

Most of you received your first choice for clan, although a couple of you got your second choice when I adjusted for allergies and other factors. More than 28 of you own pets (maybe it's the yarn but its mostly cats!), a significant number of you live in smoke free homes. I have set up the round robin matches so that pet-free households swap with pet-free, as do smoke free with those with tobacco allergies. You dog-only houses swap with other dog owners. Most of you have indicated that you are willing to ship internationally.

Needless to say, I am having fun and looking forward to this swap.

Let the games begin!
